Rajwadi Poshak is a fashion e-commerce platform dedicated to showcasing traditional dresses, sarees, and other ethnic wear specially based on Jaipur traditional wearabales. Users can browse and purchase a wide variety of garments, with options to compare prices against local market rates.

How we (2 ppl) approached this projects

When this project was given to me, i was in second year of college with basic knowledge of frontend and backend, I stated from the research on how a e-commerce works, how they showcase products, how they handle payments, and how they manage customers and their orders with good user experience.

Then i though about the offline market of the clothings, when we go at the shop they show us the products, we touch and feel the products, we try them, and then we decide to buy. But in online market given this experience is not possible.

We are two members for this projects, my friend handle backend, and my work is to be make good frontend with the good UI/UX, also my work is to be make the frontend to more user friendly and proper responsive. because ultimatly this is the women's product, and most of women uses mobile in india.

Then i start the design about the database, how product structure look like, how many images allowed, how many colors allowed, how many sizes allowed, how many category allowed, how many sub-category allowed, how many products under one category, etc. and prepare the ER-Diagram, with the proper relation between the tables.

But at that point my calculation was little bit wrong, later on schema changed lots of time, add lots of things and lots of sub-category under category. and at that time first time i learn about the normalization of database.

After compelete this all things, we start with the next js, tailwind css, framer motion, and mongo db. there is one big reason behind choose this specific tech stack, we are two members for this projects and we both are not aware of this all technologies at much, then we both start learn, start building, when we stuck at one point we search or ask AI for that. and finally we built half part of the page.

First i wrote a long prompt and built simple prototype from the lovable, setup it at locally, and then i start building the project with proper folder structure and maintain out project.

We both maintain one project parallely, all thanks to github. But story not ends here, when we star working, we both forgot to pull and after that lots of conflicts and shit happens, we lost our some codes and data, after that we though of create one different branch for backend and frontend and maintain it properly.

All things goes good from then, but when we compeleted 60% of work, and try to merge the code, we lost controls, we was not able to merge the code, there was lots of conflicts and shit happens, we lost our some codes and data again, After that we take break, and then i try to merge and finally at the 5-AM i merge whole code, run test and it works, and finally all things good to go.

Finally we go at the hackthon finale, AND WE WON

Learnings

Building Rajwadi Poshak reinforced the importance of balancing visual storytelling with conversion-focused UX. It also highlighted how useful a dedicated admin surface is for keeping product catalogs and order workflows reliable at scale.
